Re: Team for Southampton
If I had to guess, I think he'll play the same line up as the other night, but have Fornals in for Soucek.

Which of course would mean Bowen on the bench again.

I don’t know why anyone thinks noble won’t start.

All very logical selections from everyone. Unfortunately, you have left out one very important peice of the jigsaw.

The idiot Moyes. Let's see what his team selection will be. Dont be surprised if Ngakia and Fornals even make the squad

I'm still hopeful that we might get something useful out of Haller if we actually play with two wide men with the pace and desire to support the striker.

I'd be tempted to play Snodgrass instead of Fornals, mainly for his dead ball threat, but both he and Noble can't last 90 mins so one should be on the bench to replace the other. With Soucek out the only other option would be to play Sanchez, which should be avoided.

Anderson to come on to replace any of the front 3 if necessary.

Yep Masuako was ill remember and forced into that formation....

Re: Team for Southampton
He surely isn't going to go back to his trusted (losing) formation with 3 at the back, is he?

Basically this.

Haller on second half to pick up a clinching confidence goal or two.

Re: Team for Southampton
Annoying that Soucek is injured as i think you could play him and rice holding and allow yourselves to have 4 attack minded players,

Now with Noble probably having to play you'll probably have to have Snodgrass in there too instead of Fornals.

Re: Team for Southampton
Anderson is a luxury player. When he is up for it he is class but how often can we say that this season?

No graft or desire. Bottles challenges.

He could not give a shit if we win lose or draw. It is written all over his face when he plays.

In the position we are in we need players that are willing to give their all. That is the minimum expectation of any player.

If he cant do that then he should not be starting.

Re: Team for Southampton
It's not a 'must win' game according to you though 'Manual' as we are staying up regardless because Villa & Watford are worse than us.........please remember the shit you post before taking part in discussion on here.

Anderson?

WTF....

Re: Team for Southampton
In a must win game you need your captain/leader and your most creative playing in the side. This aint a game to fucking fart about in. Noble and Anderson start.

dealcanvey 11:06 Thu Feb 27
Re: Team for Southampton
Think it is important to have both Noble and Snodgrass around the side but they cant start together. Maybe 45 mins each is enough for them. After 60 both are always blowing.

Also think Haller should start. Anderson needs dropping. Only way he will realise being 50% committed is not going to be good enough.

Fab
Ngakia Diop Ogbonna Cresswell
Snodgrass Rice
Bowen Fornals Antonio
Haller

Not Snodgrass natural position but he can do a job there and has done before. Way to slow for right wing these days. Takes him two minutes to get the ball onto his left foot.

Antonio up top on he’s own is as bad as Haller is, they need to play together

Re: Team for Southampton
I'd pick Anderson every game as frustrating as he is. He was so fucking poor first half but did improve second.

But we have zero other creativity and the chance he will create something on current form is low, but still higher than the rest.

Fornals for Soucek and Bowen for Noble, with snoddy sitting deeper.. Not ideal but as usual our central midfield options are limited.

Nobes needs a rest, Anderson there as no one else is available. Hoping he can show more then 20 mins of him looking a player and then can put Xande Silva out there or Antonio and get Haller on?

Whatever way you look at it we'll have 2 in the starting line up and prob most the bench that are woefully out of form

Haz 9:22 Thu Feb 27
Re: Team for Southampton
I'd like to see Fornals in place of Nobes. He looked as if he needed a rest on Monday. Maybe bring him on if we're hanging on to a lead late on.
